Graphic design, and the shift of modern technologies has always been my passion, ever since I first jumped onto my Dads mac when I was just a kid.

I've been obsessed with design my entire life, growing up surrounded by creatives and designers, has definitely left it's mark on me. Now is the time that's exciting to be in design, how far technology has advanced, and the change in focus of a designers role.

I know the design basics like the back of my hand. I can rant on for ages about typography, grids, layouts and Design principles. But this is becoming old school. I was brought up on these rules, and solidified this philosophy whilst at University. These are the foundations of design, and whilst these are important rules to follow today, they can be adapted for use in so many different ways.

We're no longer confined in old techniques. And this is what I love about the industry today. I love to experiment with new techniques. I picked up 3D a few years back, and although it seems basic these days, I taught me to think about my work in a different way. Thinking in 3D space meant I wasn't always thinking about creating work in a flat design.

Photography, influenced by my dad, means I love to explore places, changing a viewers perception of what they're seeing. Something that looks perfect to the eye, in reality can be harsh and cold. Every piece of work, not just pictures, tell a story. I'm forever asking questions. Questions like, who is it for? Where is it going? How will someone get to see it? I try to push my work, not only so it's fit for purpose, but so it makes in impact.

I always try to explore within the brief. I approach projects like problems, and how do I solve it? I like to understand as many aspects of the projects as I can, work with others and share knowledge to create a better outcome.

The skills I've picked up over the years has left me to be extremely versatile when it comes to my work. I'm not afraid of trying new software or methods, I can grasp new software quickly, and I feel this is essential to keep up with the times. I want to have the chance to experiment with prototyping, working more closely with developers than I have done in the past and being able to flex my creative muscles and tackle the next challenge.
